My dear liberal friend,
Last night I sent an email to a number of friends like yourself to explain why, as a former supporter of Hillary, ( after supporting Edwards, after supporting Kucinich !) I thought that I and done the right thing voting for Obama and recommending for those who had yet to vote, or who might still be planning to contribute to the Democratic primary process that they do the same. I said in part,"All things considered, judging by the need to avoid a long drawn out battle that will exhaust our resources and sap our strength fighting amongst ourselves to the bitter end, it would be great if the Democratic party would soon coalesce around Barack as the Democratic Party candidate, as our rivals have already done, so that we could turn whatever energies and resources we have left against the Republican candidate instead of one of our own. "
Like most progressive Democrats, you probably like both Obama and Clinton and would be happy to see either one win. But then something comes up to make you lean away from one and towards the other. As much as I hate to add to your confusion or indecision, here's another piece that I think is important and informative enough for me to pass on to as many of my liberal friends as possible, as it provides ample evidence from what I believe to be a reliable source that Obama isn't at all the progressive that he is making himself out to be during this primary season.
